PRESIDENT REGIONAL AWWA SOUTHERN COMMAND
FELICITATES WAR WIDOWS
Honouring Veer Naris (war widows) and looking after their well being, in view of the sacrifices of our soldiers, has been a constant endeavour of Southern Command and Konark Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA). In keeping with this spirit today Mrs Suneeti Singh, wife of Liutenant General AK Singh, GOC-in-c Southern Command, Regional President, Southern Comd AWWA while on tour of Jodhpur, felicitated 30 war widows from in and around Jodhpur at a function organized at Konark auditorium. Nearly 700 wives of all ranks of Konark Corps posted at Jodhpur were present at the glittering ceremony.
A medical camp was also organized within the premises of Konark auditorium where in facilities of dental and medical check up were extended to war widows and wives of all ranks of Jodhpur military station. Mrs Suneeti Singh during her interaction with war widows enquired about their being and any problems being faced by them which could be resolved by Southern Command AWWA.
At the function Regional President Southern Command AWWA exhorted the ladies present to willingly contribute towards the welfare activities, in which especially women’s empowerment is the crux and has been the focus all these years, as also have been other areas like education, health care and welfare of ‘Veer Naris” in the new socio economic set up.
